8221, High Pressure Transducer
- Measuring ranges from 0 ... 1000 bar to 0 ... 5000 bar
- Superior accuracy ≤ 0.2 % F.S.
- Robust construction with IP66 protection.
- Digital calibration via an innovative magnetic pen.
- Integrated amplifier options for versatile signal output.
- Monolithic sensor membrane for increased safety and reliability.
- Standardized sensitivity for straightforward electronic integration.
The Model 8221 High Pressure Transducer excels in environments requiring precise high-pressure measurements, such as hydraulic circuits and water-jet cutting equipment. Built to withstand dynamic loading, this sensor is fitted with a monolithic sensor membrane that enhances safety and reliability by preventing medium contact with weld seams. It operates effectively across a broad measurement range from 0 to 5000 bar with an accuracy of ≤ 0.2 % F.S.
The sensor's design includes relief holes that allow for the measurement of both static and dynamic pressures under adverse conditions. For ease of integration and maintenance, the sensor's sensitivity is standardized at 1.0 mV/V. An integrated shunt resistor facilitates easy calibration or verification of subsequent electronics without needing recalibration. Optional integrated amplifiers (0 ... 10 V, 0 ... 5 V, and 4 ... 20 mA) and the innovative digital calibration function, activated by a magnetic pen, further enhance usability and performance.

The reliability and safety of a sensor is extremely important, particularly in high-pressure applications such as water-jet cutting equipment and hydraulic circuits. The dynamic loading encountered in these applications requires the use of sensors that are specially adapted for high pressure ranges. It is exactly these tough requirements that are satisfied by the model number 8221 sensor. With dynamic pressures, for example, an unlimited number of measurements can be taken if the pressure lies within the range from 0 ... 70% full scale.
The strong construction allows liquid or gaseous media to be measured in the laboratory, production department or in mobile hydraulic applications.
